Hello blog-land and welcome to my first blog post! Let me start by saying a big, “Thank You!” for even stopping by. I’m very excited to finally be starting this project.

I’ve had a debate with myself for months about whether or not I could write a blog. What am I going to write about? What if no one reads it? What if, by chance, someone does read it, but my posts are dry and boring and they immediately go back to watching Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’ video on YouTube? Yikes. But in the end, I decided that even if my husband and my mom are my only faithful readers, I still think it I will have fun doing it!

So, readers (if you’re out there), I will do my best to keep you entertained..and maybe we can even learn a thing or two from each other! You see, about 8 months ago, I became a wife. It was most definitely the happiest day of my life, but I soon realized that I have a LOT to learn. And, let me tell ya, I’m anxious to learn it all! I would love to be able to just “whip up a little something’’ without using a recipe. Seriously, I can’t ever picture myself being able to say that. I mess things up even when I’m USING the recipe.

However, that’s where the title of this blog, Lemon Drop Life, comes in. Let me explain. One of my favorite songs is Somewhere Over the Rainbow…it’s just so beautiful and hopeful. And one of my favorite lines of that song is, “where troubles melt like lemon drops..” I don’t know why, but I just love that imagery. It reminds me that life is meant to be happy, and I can’t worry when I burn the chocolate chip cookies. So I’m going to blog about the things that make me happy: interior design, DIY projects, cooking, fashion, travel, my husband, and of course my life.

I hope you’ll continue to read, and I would love to hear from you. If you have any ideas, comments, suggestions..please, I can use all the help I can get!
